Medieval Chess Tournament – July 28

The Manitoba Chess Association is again pleased to be participating in the Medieval Festival at the Immaculate Conception Church in Cooks Creek, MB on Saturday, July 28.  We will host two tournaments — the first starting at 1:00 will be for unrated players; the second starting at 3:00 will be an open tournament for both rated and unrated players.  Details as follows:

Unrated tournament:  5 round Swiss.  Games are 5 minutes per player plus 3 second increment per move.  No entry fee.  Prizes to be awarded.

Rated tournament:  5 round Swiss.  Games are 5 minutes per player plus 3 second increment per move.  Entry fee.  $10.  Prize fund of $50 plus entry fees.

A live player chess event will be held following the tournaments, featuring players in full medieval costume!

Please note there is an admission fee to the Festival grounds:  $15 for adults and $5 for under 12.  Details on the Festival can be found here.
