Golden Boy Classic team tournament

By | September 10, 2014

The Manitoba Chess Association invites chess players to play in the Golden Boy Classic.  This is a team chess tournament with teams to be based on provincial constituencies.  The tournament is being organized by the Total Educational Development for Sports, Inc.  Details on the tournament are attached.

The goal is to obtain teams from ten or more provincial constituencies.  The proposed format is for the teams to be split into two divisions with each division playing a round-robin.  The top two teams from each division would advance to the play-offs, with the final matches played at the Legislative Building.

Players can register as individuals or as a team, with teams assembled on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Deadline for entry is September 20, although players are encouraged to register early to be assured a spot on a team.  The entry fee ($100 per team) will be collected immediately prior to the first round, scheduled for September 27 at the Garden City Shopping Centre.
