2023 Manitoba Closed – final results

In Round 4, Marlon Jodar defeated Jonathon Zaczek to secure at least a tie for first, with one round remaining.

In the final round, Jordan Kwiatek spurned a potential draw by repetition; Jodar went on to win and is the 2023 Manitoba Closed Champion with a perfect 5-0 score.

Collin Anderson finished second with 4 Points.  Third and fourth place prizes were shared by Jonathon Zaczek, Theo Wolchock, and Gustav Baron, all with 3 points.

Tournament Director was Tony Boron.

Prize fund provided from a legacy from the estate of Israel Joseph (Joe ) Dreman. Joe enjoyed great success as a chess player having been a repeated winner of the Manitoba Chess Championship.
