2023 November St. Mary’s FIDE Rapid results

Fifty-one entries contested the 2023 November FIDE Rapids at St. Mary’s Road United Church on November 18.

In the morning U1600 section, Amangeldi Abdildin won with   4.5 points from 5 rounds.

John Chan and Jon Bettner shared 2nd/3rd place prizes with 4 points.

George Zhelev was 4th with 3.5 points

Top unrated was Cole Chicoine with 2.5 points.

In the afternoon Open Section, Marlon Jodar  emerged as the winner, with 4.5 points.

Michael Odugbesan, Gustav Baron, Aleksandar Zashev and James Currie shared 2nd/3rd place prizes with 4 points.

Gleb Zudin was top U1700 with 3.5 points.

Gabriel Hamm, Prabhav Repaka, Chenghong Zhang, and Mason Bilugan, with 3 points, shared in the 2nd U1700

The tournaments were organized and directed by Al MacPherson.  Administrative assistance from Tony Boron.  Special thanks to John Klokow  house player, ensuring no one else had to take a bye.  Thanks to those who help set up and take down tables and equipment.
